Marangoni has launched the new MTXL retread for the OTR tire segment. This product was designed to provide casings with a tread design similar to the original, but it can also be adapted to the specific needs of customers.
In recent case study, Finland-based Valtasiirto asked Marangoni to design a retread solution for the original equipment tires on its Kiruna slag pot carriers. They specified high traction and cut/tear resistance.
According to OTR tire area manager at Marangoni, Ayhan Haliloglou, “These new premium tires in size 29.5 R29 have a newly designed casing, with higher load capacity and a completely new tread design.”
Marangoni and Finnish distributor Lujakami worked together to develop the retread for Lujakami’s customer Valtasiirto. The new tires are currently in operation and are being monitored by Lujakumi’s technical specialists.
So far each tire has been inspected using a shearography machine that allows inspection of the inner structure of the tire. “Marangoni is one of the few retreaders in Europe which uses a shearography device for OTR tires,” added Haliloglou.
