Tires used in regional haul operations face variable road conditions and frequent stop-start driving. According to Michelin, the X Multi Energy D2 is designed to combine durability with reduced rolling resistance to support fuel efficiency and lower operating costs.

The tire features an updated tread pattern and compound designed to resist tread damage from high-torque vehicles and stop-start regional driving. It uses Michelin’s Duracore casing, incorporating Infinicoil and Powercoil technologies with a reinforced bead design. Michelin says the casing is designed for up to one million miles and four retreads.
The X Multi Energy D2 improves rolling resistance by 9% over its predecessor and 18% compared with leading competitors, according to Michelin. It also reportedly improves late-life performance, with 10% better wet handling and 16% better snow-starting traction when worn, compared with the previous model.
