Michelin says its newly released construction tire has been designed to help operators maximize productivity, reduce operating costs and simplify tire management across a wide range of applications.
Clifford de Jager, CES technical manager, beyond road – mining, construction, material handling at Michelin, said, “The Michelin XHA3 builds on the proven success of the Michelin XHA2. It has been developed specifically to meet the demands of increasingly powerful construction equipment and the growing need for machine uptime.
“Designed to perform across varied terrains – from mud to asphalt, including aggressive environments – the Michelin XHA3 is engineered to support fast and intensive operating cycles. This versatility helps simplify fleet management and reduce inventory complexity by limiting the number of tire specifications required across mixed fleets.”
Suitable for loaders, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and graders, the new tire offers a multimachine design covering E3, L3 and G3 applications. Its innovative design and structure reportedly provide up to 20% greater wear life compared with the previous generation, while also enhancing stability, operator comfort and vibration reduction. The versatile casing architecture supports a high level of retreadability, helping operators to maximize tire value over its service life.
Michelin visual pressure control
The XHA3 is the first tire in the Michelin range to feature Michelin Visual Pressure Control.
Developed in response to customers’ day-to-day operational requirements, the integrated visual indicator is designed to support routine vehicle inspections, where maintaining correct tire pressures is essential for safety, productivity and regulatory compliance.
The system provides a visual indication of the tire’s inflation status without electronic sensors, monitoring devices or external equipment. Through a visual check, operators can identify whether the tire pressure requires adjustment.
Enhanced performance
Building on the trusted legacy of the XHA2, the XHA3 incorporates several innovations derived from Michelin’s expertise in the construction sector.
Its new tread design, featuring increased rubber volume, has been engineered to reduce tire-related maintenance costs while extending service life.
A reinforced bead area allows the tire to accommodate the demands of high-torque machinery and delivers up to 20% additional load capacity, depending on tire size. The new four-block tread pattern and optimized progressive shoulder radius contribute to enhanced traction across multiple vehicle types and applications.
These performance enhancements help support high-productivity machine cycles, reduce unplanned downtime and improve operational continuity on construction sites. Overall, Michelin estimates that the XHA3 can deliver approximately 16% lower TCO than its predecessor.
The XHA3 will be introduced to the UK market in several dimensions: 29.5 R25 (October 2026), 23.5 R25 (October 2026) and 26.5 R25 (January 2027).
