Extrusion technology specialist Troester has purchased HF Group’s extrusion technology business unit to expand its portfolio and expertise. Troester plans to keep the existing facility in Hamburg, Germany, and all employees.

Dr Joern Seevers, managing director of Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau (HF), explained the company’s decision: “The extrusion business has changed significantly in recent years and many of our customers are increasingly asking for complete lines and turnkey solutions for rubber extrusion.

“With the transfer of ownership to Troester we are ensuring that extrusion technology – which today is highly specialized in the Indian market – can continue to be developed successfully.

“We are delighted that Troester, a family business, shares similar values as HF and will continue to develop the acquired business together with its highly qualified employees.”

Dr Peter Schmidt, managing partner of Troester, commented, “The acquisition gives us access to technologically advanced extrusion products as well as a dynamic service and engineering organization, which will open up new opportunities for Troester on the international market.

“HF extrusion’s technical equipment and scope as well as its international network of valuable business contacts, ideally complement Troester’s current portfolio, thus providing customers with new and enhanced equipment solutions.”

Current orders and projects will be completed in close cooperation between the two companies as both teams work to ensure continuity in all future business relations with customers and suppliers from their respective locations in Hanover and Hamburg.
