For the latest iteration of the X-Trail, Nissan has selected the Ventus S1 evo3 SUV tire in a size 235/55R19V as the vehicle’s original equipment.
The ultra-high performance SUV tire, which is produced in Korea, benefits from a sidewall that has been strengthened significantly compared to standard tires by using bead packing, a process which involves a special nylon material being placed in the sidewall area.
A two-layer carcass and an aramid composite material help to reduce the unwanted expansion of the rolling circumference at high speeds by up to 60% compared to previous Hankook patterns. Other features of the Ventus S1 evo3 SUV include interlocking grooves and a high-performing tread compound made from natural resins which deliver stable grip, a high level of braking power and durability in an array of temperatures and road scenarios.

The North American equivalent of Nissan X-Trail, the Nissan Rogue, is fitted with Hankook’s Dynapro HP2. The tire features silencer sipes to prevent harmonic tread pattern noise from reaching the cabin, in addition to a shock-absorbing base tread compound which delivers comfort for vehicle occupants. Additionally, a straight four-channel waterway in the Dynapro HP2’s tread resists hydroplaning, while a high-stiffness center rib block improves steering precision.
