Uniroyal has launched AllSeasonExpert 3, an all-season tire designed to perform well in wet conditions, as well as in snow and on dry roads.
Wet tire features
Uniroyal developed its existing technology for the AllSeasonExpert 3, using its Shark Skin Technology, which consists of a rough micro-surface made up of numerous small scales. The tread pattern features of many tiny ridges in the outer grooves, which channel the water to the side quickly and without turbulence. The tire also features a V-shaped, directional tread pattern, which enables water to be quickly collected in its wide, circumferential grooves and then drained to the side via deep grooves. This reduces the risk of aquaplaning.
For the AllSeasonExpert 3, Uniroyal has optimized the tread pattern and made it even stiffer in the shoulder area. This ensures that the tire responds quickly and precisely to steering movements. The tire also has a larger footprint for more direct contact with the road surface. A new tread design ensures even pressure distribution. This combination gives more grip, stability and control, and shorter braking distances.
Winter safety
The multiple gripping edges of the AllSeasonExpert 3 interlock to enable an increased contact patch. This aims to improve the tread’s stability and grip on the road surface. Special sipes are arranged over the entire surface of the tire blocks to create several traction edges and provide the best traction on snow-covered roads.
The AllSeasonExpert 3 is rated B for wet grip, B for noise and C for rolling resistance in the EU tire label. In addition to an M+S marking, the AllSeasonExpert 3 bears the snowflake symbol, as well as the EV-compatible logo. The tire is said to be compatible with all vehicle types.
Uniroyal offers 40 sizes for rims between 15 and 20 inches, and says the range of sizes will be expanded next year.
