At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Goodyear presented its vision for the future of tires, defined by the transition to driverless vehicles and shared mobility in urban centers.

Its new concepts – the spherical-shaped Eagle 360 Urban and the IntelliGrip Urban smart tire – apply emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity to help autonomous vehicles of the future navigate the possible unknowns faced in everyday driving scenarios.

“The future of the automotive industry is being shaped by rapid advances in technology and changing consumer attitudes and behaviors,” said Joe Zekoski, Goodyear’s senior VP and CTO. “The concepts and technology we are showcasing in Geneva are part of the revolution that we see unfolding at the intersection of autonomy, mobility and connectivity where tires and services will play a critical role in meeting our customers’ performance and information needs.”
