Smithers Rapra’s VP of technical consulting, Bruce Lambillotte, will speak at the 2019 Clemson University Global Tire Industry Conference at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, in the USA, on April 10-12.

His presentation, The Impact of Global Electric Vehicle Market Growth on Tire Development, on the first day of the conference, is part of a session on innovation, new technology and design, and will address how the growing electric vehicle market is expected to impact tire performance requirements in future.

The Clemson University Global Tire Industry Conference is a platform for industry experts to discuss developments in the field of tire design, research and manufacturing in all allied industries, whether directly or indirectly involved in tire construction. Presentations will cover the latest in manufacturing technologies, product standards, regulatory issues, automotive trends and financial forecasting.

“The next decade promises to be one of the most revolutionary in the automotive industry, with the growth of new technology and performance requirements,” said Dr Jim Popio, vice president for North America, Smithers Rapra.

“Even as our cars evolve beyond what we could’ve imagined 50 years ago, the tire remains a critical piece in these automotive developments. We are thrilled to have the opportunity at Clemson for Bruce to share his perspective on these developments in tire performance.”
