Birla Carbon and Orion increase carbon black prices

Birla Carbon is to increase carbon black prices in Europe and Africa by €70/MT. (US$78/MT) The price hike has been made in response to current market conditions, raw material costs, increasingly stringent regulatory requirements and the need for reinvestment in existing carbon black plants.

Elsewhere, Orion Engineered Carbons also plans to increase the price of its rubber carbon black grades sold in the EMEA region. Due to increasing operating expenses and the cost required to meet more stringent customer quality standards and service levels, invoice prices will be adjusted by €60 (US$67)to €90/MT (US$100/MT).
