Apollo launches two-wheeler tires on Sri Lankan market

Apollo Tyres has introduced its two-wheeler tires on the Sri Lankan market – prompted by the company’s huge success in the region since its introduction there in 2011.

Sri Lanka contributes more than 20% of the company’s exports to SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation )countries. The roads and vehicles in Sri Lanka are very similar to that of India, where Apollo Tyres is also one of the top tire makers.

Satish Sharma, president, APMEA, Apollo Tyres, said, “With Sri Lanka being the top island economy of the future, and FDIs in the country increasing nearly 150% in 2016, we see this is as an opportunity for us to increase our focus here. We are looking at capitalizing on the increasing automotive sales, especially for two wheelers. We are using our experience in India in the kind of tires, services and training required to enable vehicle owners in this country to maximize on products’ performance.”
