New production director appointed at Sumitomo Rubber South Africa

Sumitomo Rubber South Africa (SRSA) has announced the appointment of Anca Priscu as group director of production.

Priscu’s role will involve the design and implementation of strategies at Sumitomo’s plant in Ladysmith, South Africa.

“We are delighted to welcome Anca into the company as we continue to deliver on fair price, fair value, quality and safety for both direct customers and end consumers,” commented SRSA CEO Lubin Ozoux. “Trained as a mechanical engineer and with vast experience in a wide range of positions including CEO, she has a proven track record for transforming companies into high performers.”

Having achieved a master’s degree in fine mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania, Priscu went on to work at the country’s Design Institute for Automation Engineering as a mechanical engineer. Following this, Priscu emmigrated to South Africa to find work within the automotive sector.

In 2020, she worked for Norcros SA as an independent consultant before assisting with strategic initiatives and execution. Priscu then joined SRSA in August 2021.
