Rubber Consultants refurbishes its tire test facilities in the UK

An open day at the Brickendonbury, UK, facility will highlight the latest equipment installed there and provide guests with the opportunity to meet staff from the analytical chemistry and biotechnology labs.

New systems include a 55-liter computer controlled rubber mixer suitable for mixed batch weights of ~45kg; a scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer; dynamic testing equipment for characterization of materials in terms of strain, frequency, temperature and time dependent properties; temperature monitoring and fatigue testing; and a two station passenger tire test rig, which can measure force and moment and rolling resistance to ISO 18164.
