Toyo Tire’s Open Country H/T tire has been selected as original equipment (OE) for Mazda’s new crossover SUV, the Mazda CX-5, which went on sale in the North American market in March 2026.
According to Mazda, the CX-5 offers greater comfort in a variety of daily driving situations through a spacious, tranquil interior, enhanced ride comfort and improved quietness.
The Open Country H/T was developed using two proprietary platform technologies: Nano Balance Technology for material design and T-Mode for tire design support. Toyo says these technologies were applied to help deliver the comfortable and confident driving characteristics targeted by Mazda.
