Altrans, a logistics operator in Galicia, Spain, that transports hundreds of tons of merchandise every day along the roads of Europe and North Africa, is now operating on 40% retreads thanks to a partnership with Marangoni. The tire company’s Blackline RDR HM3, a premium Ringtread product designed for regional and long-haul applications, is used on the drive axle of Altrans trucks, mainly in size 315/80R22.5.

“We’re glad to operate on Blackline RDR HM3, which has an increased mileage of 20% compared with any other retreading brands,” said Luis Álvarez, manager at Altrans. “This Marangoni Ringtread pattern has improved mileage, and therefore reduced our operational costs, especially for groupage, full and part-load services.”

Altrans’ provider is retread specialist Louzán S.L., founded in the 1940s in Galicia, which became a member of the Marangoni Ringtread network in 2016.

Marangoni recommends Blackline RDR HM3 for use on the drive axles of vehicles with high power and engine torque operating mainly on demanding national and regional routes. The optimized footprint, together with the extremely square shoulders, are said to guarantee great roadholding and grip on different surfaces and in different weather conditions. The Ringtread Blackline RDR HM3 is produced with the latest-generation Marangoni compound, especially developed to maximize mileage and at the same time minimize heat generation, thus ensuring less wear, longer tread life and reduced rolling resistance.
