Bridgestone develops bespoke Potenza Sport tires for Maserati Grecale

Bespoke Potenza tires will be fitted to the Maserati Grecale, following Bridgestone’s use of virtual modeling technologies during the development process. This simulation enables the tire maker to design, test and fine-tune the Potenza Sport in a virtual environment, providing significant benefits in efficiency and sustainability. As part of the partnership, Bridgestone is providing fitments for the range-topping Trofeo and mild-hybrid versions of the Grecale.

The Potenza Sport fitment for the Maserati Grecale Trofeo includes an asymmetric tread design with continuous center ribs flanked by a large external shoulder. A stiffer carcass design and reinforced tire crown structure help distribute pressure and maintain grip during hard cornering and braking.

Bridgestone has also developed a new tread compound and pattern for the Grecale mild-hybrid version of the new D-segment SUV. The Potenza Sport tires have been specifically designed to target dry handling, comfort and low rolling resistance, and the mild-hybrid application features a tailored carcass construction designed to counteract the additional vehicle load of the powertrain.

The Maserati Grecale Trofeo and mild-hybrid Grecale are now available on the European market.
