New truck tire rubber from Dunlop provides higher mileage

LinkedIn +

Dunlop has launched its new on-road truck tires for long- and regional-haul applications.

As well as offering higher mileage and lower fuel consumption than its predecessor, the SP344 steer tire features an innovative tread design, which meets the 3PMSF EU homologation requirements for truck snow tires. The increased flexibility of the tread blocks, due to the deep sipes, enables better snow compaction compared with the predecessor. The high-frequency zig-zag sipes ensure low wear so that the tread pattern is maintained throughout its life until it is ready for re-grooving.

The Dunlop SP446 drive tire also offers higher mileage than its predecessor and delivers very good traction in all conditions thanks to the raindrop shape of the base of the sipes.

The SP346 and SP446 tires can be retreaded as Dunlop TreadMax SP446 mold cure retreads, using the same tread patterns and similar materials as the new tires. This means that the performance of the retreads is close to that of the new tires, including their full winter capabilities.
