The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology, a producer of graphene products, and Chinese tire manufacturer, Shangdong Hengyu Technology Group, have developed tire formulations to prove the positive impact of graphene on the performance of tires.

Adding only a very small amount of Sixth Elements’ SE2430 to formulations of the tire tread, the rate of wear decreased by more than 25%, while tear strength was more than doubled.

The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology recently presented the newly developed Horizon HD heavy-duty tire to the public. Road testing is almost complete and marketing is scheduled to start at the end of 2016.
