Toyo SUV tire incorporates silica-based tread for improved braking

LinkedIn +

The latest SUV tire from Toyo Tire USA, the Proxes ST III, features a wider tread and a new silica-based tread compound which are claimed to enable 6ft shorter braking distances in wet conditions.

The tire is also said to provide precise handling, all-season performance, consistent wear and a smooth, quiet ride.

Arrowhead tapers incorporated into the tire’s tread pattern help deliver increased tread block stiffness resulting in better straight-line stability.

Directional shoulder blocks stabilize the tread blocks for better braking performance and a quieter ride. Lightning grooves provide improved water evacuation.

In addition, the multi-wave sipes minimize irregular wear for greater longevity and ensure smooth, quiet running.
