Nokian applies its aramid sidewall tech to van and campervan tires

Nokian has introduced its aramid sidewall technology, designed to improve the durability of tires (pictured above on the Nokian WR SUV3), to its van and campervan line-up.

These vehicles are often in hard use, and driven fully loaded on poor roads, gravel and over curbstones. The tires must bear the entire weight of the vehicle and provide safe and stable handling under all conditions. Aramid fiber in the sidewall of the tire provides an extra layer of reinforcement so the tire can withstand these harsh impacts.

“We want to offer van and campervan drivers the same durability that the users of our SUV and LT tires are already benefitting from. In addition to reducing potential additional costs associated with tire damage, aramid fiber also ensures that the cargo can reach its destination without any trouble,” said Petri Niemi, head of product and pricing management for Nokian Tyres.
