A new research initiative will focus on the development of advanced composite materials for application in large aircraft radial tires. All the partners working on the National Natural Science Foundation project, including Linglong Tire, held their first meeting in December at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology in China.

Wang Feng, chairman of Linglong Tire, has been appointed as the commissioner of the Project Science & Technology Cooperation Advisory Committee.

Through its involvement in the research, Linglong aims to make technical breakthroughs in the area and has pledged to put forward funds to construct new aircraft tire production lines and detection and analysis devices. It will look into new design theories and key rubber materials.
