Two expansion projects at Cabot Corporation will grow the company’s global footprint in black masterbatch and compounds, and increase manufacturing capacity to better serve global customers and further business in advanced polymeric materials.

Cabot has acquired Tech Blend, a North American producer of black masterbatches, which will now operate as Cabot Plastics Canada within Cabot’s global specialty compounds business; and the company has also commissioned a new production line at its manufacturing facility in Pepinster, Belgium.

Cabot’s masterbatch and conductive compounds business now includes a comprehensive range of black masterbatches from five manufacturing locations throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.

The company also now has full service manufacturing and sales capabilities in the North American region to serve both global and regional customers.

“With our expanded presence into North America, we are better equipped to provide high quality products to our customers, wherever they are located,” noted Thomas Estienne, general manager for Cabot specialty compounds North America.
