Tire machinery manufacturer Cassioli wins Pirelli Supplier Awards 2019

Italian machinery manufacturer Cassioli is celebrating the fact that its tire division has won the Pirelli Supplier Award 2019. Cassioli was one of nine companies chosen out of over 10,000 suppliers. They were selected due to their sustainable supply chain practices and production quality, and for their contribution in enabling Pirelli to develop even more high-value products, in line with the group’s strategy.

Cassioli, which began working with Pirelli in 1995 and installed the first handling systems in Pirelli’s plants over four years ago, was recognized for its ‘global presence’ and ‘innovation’.

“It is an honor for us to be recognized as a part of Pirelli’s success in the tire business, and we are proud of this important recognition, which honors us and drives us ahead to invest in research and innovation,” said Carlo Cassioli, CEO of the Cassioli Group.

“I want to share this award with the whole company – the sales department, the technical offices and the production staff – since each and every person has contributed to achieving such important results.”

The Cassioli Group, founded in 1943 and active in the automation business for over 45 years, is a key partner of the tire industry today. Specialized in providing plant solutions for industrial movement and automation, the group has four divisions – intralogistics, manufacturing, tires and an airport division.

In the last 10 years the tire sector has played the biggest role in Cassioli’s production line: experience built-up over time and planning have made it possible for the company to identify the best solutions, with the right compromise between needs and operating costs. Producing high-quality tires requires intelligent management of internal logistics, attention to quality standards and competitive timing.

Cassioli’s offering includes equipment for layout design, system check-up, personnel training and after sales service. Automation of the handling units enables the best use of all the machines within a system, cutting down interruptions and production stops.

Cassioli’s technologically advanced solutions incorporate all the devices needed to make the workflow quick and timely. Increasing the flow of material to the presses is the key to maximizing production and saving time while guaranteeing a safe and risk-free workplace for operators. Constant availability of tires in the curing phase enables maximum use of the presses, which is quantifiable as a substantial production increase.

In addition to production equipment, Cassioli’s offering includes automated warehouses for storing raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, and handling systems such as conveyors, AGVs, EMSs and SLSs to move materials.

It provides control software for the materials and processes, offering real-time data for production and managing stock. This enables companies to achieve the maximum return on tire processing, speed up production and delivery time, while preserving a high product quality level throughout each process phase.

Technological innovation, research, reliability, ease of maintenance and flexibility are said to be the strong points of Cassioli’s technologies.

It is this attention to technological innovation and process quality that led to Pirelli choosing Cassioli as a winner in the Supplier Awards 2019.

The awards were given by Pirelli’s general manager of operations, Andrea Casaluci, and chief procurement officer, Pierluigi de Cancellis, who said, “Pirelli is following a business model focused on global high value. To achieve these goals one must therefore undertake a path together with partners who are able to guarantee not only excellent and innovative service, but also share values such as attention to people, to the environment, to the customer and to brand value. This is why we decided to reward companies that shared these aspects with Pirelli and which have become true Pirelli partners and not just suppliers of goods or services.”

It’s an important achievement for the Italian company, which has three production plants – in Italy, Poland and Brazil – and offices around the world.

Cassioli guarantees tailored planning on customer programs, and thanks to its in-house know-how, it can adapt any solution to the needs of the customer.
