Addison Lee is to fit the majority of its 5,000 fleet vehicles with Michelin CrossClimate tires. Extending its deal with Michelin until 2017, the London, UK-based taxi firm said that its Toyota Prius, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Ford Galaxy vehicles will be fitted with the CrossClimate tire.

This rubber features V-shaped tread and self-blocking 3D sipes, which are designed to optimize traction in winter conditions. The tire has an A rating for wet grip on the EU tire label and a C for rolling resistance, with a noise rating of 68dB.

Addison Lee’s most popular vehicle, the Ford Galaxy, has until now only been operating on the summer tire as standard, and the switch will increase safety and braking performance in an inner-city environment.
