FAA approval strengthens Dunlop’s global expansion

Dunlop Aircraft Tyres has received Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) approval of its facilities in China and the USA. The FAA-14 CFR Part 145 approval means that operators of US-registered commercial aircraft will be able to benefit from Dunlop’s global tire distribution and retreading capability and network.

“Having three FAA certified operations covering the Americas, Asia-Pacific as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa, immediately enhances our value offer to the market,” said Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ chairman, Ian Edmondson.

“Many operators, not just those with US registered aircraft, require FAA certification and our robust procedures meet the standards of the FAA and other global authorities.”

The company has a distribution and retreading facility in China that supports the Asia-Pacific region. The site has approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as well as a number of countries across the region including Indonesia and Thailand.

Dunlop is also now opening its first distribution and retreading facility in North America to better support aircraft operators throughout the Americas.
