Apollo Tyres appoints new chief financial officer

Gaurav Kumar has been appointed chief financial officer at Apollo Tyres, having previously held the position of group head of corporate strategy and finance at the company. Kumar will be based out of company’s headquarters in Gurgaon, India, and will oversee the global accounts, finance, taxation and investor relations.

Kumar (left) will report to Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and MD, who said, “Gaurav has been a key member of our strategy team and has played a leading role in numerous projects that have had a significant impact on the company’s revenue and profitability. Given his strong track record within and outside of Apollo Tyres, we believe he is the right fit for the role of CFO at the company.”

Having joined Apollo Tyres in 2004 Kumar has been an intrinsic part of the company’s global growth strategy from its entry into South Africa in 2006 to its acquisition of the Netherlands-based Vredestein Banden in 2009 and the recent Hungary greenfield facility.

“I am very happy to be part of a company which has given me such growth opportunities. As we expand our footprint across geographies and capture new markets, my focus will be on further strengthening our balance sheet,” Kumar said.
