Tire Technology Expo Day 1: Saurer Twisting Solutions features its technology for superior tire cord production

LinkedIn +

Saurer Twisting Solutions is exhibiting its CableCorder CC5 at Tire Technology Expo in Hannover, Germany. The system was developed to enable the manufacturing of high-quality cord for use within tires.

The latest generation of the CableCorder delivers several advantages for production facilities, including modern quality control, flexible automation and digitalization solutions, and reduced energy consumption, furthered by the use of a smart spindle concept for additional energy savings.

Featuring an optimized thread balloon diameter and a reduced spindle gauge, the CC5 requires less space but delivers increased productivity. Furthermore, online monitoring of the quality parameters ensures that requirements for high-quality tire cord are met.

Other notable features include the machine’s intelligent automation solutions, which increase the efficiency of package transportation by using modern automated guided vehicle technology. The loading of Saurer’s machine, the removal of the completed take-up packages and the supply of the downstream creels are supported by automation technology.

Alongside the basic CC5, the company is providing details of the CableCorder CC5-TFO, which produces yarns using the two-for-one twisting process, and the CC5-3PLY for production of symmetrical and asymmetrical three-ply tire cord.
