Bridgestone has announced that its Turanza T005, which was introduced in October 2017, will be the OE tire on the recently launched Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The regular Turanza T005 will come as standard equipment on A-Class models fitted with 17-19in rims, while runflat versions will available on 17in and 18in wheels.

The Japanese tire manufacturer says it collaborated closely with Mercedes-Benz for over two years to ensure its Turanza T005 is optimized for the new A-Class. Bridgestone’s winter range is also the Mercedes-approved choice for winter rubber.

The tires were developed to combine comfort with good wet grip. “Bridgestone engineers fine-tuned the latest tread compounds to the plans and designs for the A-Class,” says Daniele Turriziani, test-driver for Bridgestone EMEA. “We tested, adjusted and re-tested the tires here at the Bridgestone European Technical Centre and Proving Ground. We kept pushing the design until we knew we had it exactly right.”
