Laufenn has introduced the S Fit 2, a sporty summer tire designed for the European market. The tire is available in 94 sizes for passenger cars (15in-20in) and sizes 16in to 20in for SUVs.
Developed and extensively tested for Europe’s varied driving conditions, the S Fit 2 is the brand’s first tire to be used as original equipment by European car manufacturers and offers stable handling on hot asphalt, reliable wet-weather performance and a comfortable ride in city traffic.
“With the Laufenn S Fit 2, we are strengthening the profile of our brand in the summer segment,” said Jang Hyuk Moon, vice president, marketing department, Hankook Tire Europe. “The fact that the tire is also being used as original equipment for the first time is an important milestone and shows that Laufenn is continuing to gain substance in the European market.”
The tire achieves an EU wet grip rating of A in almost 90% of sizes, thanks to a high silica tread compound and convex tread block design. Four linear grooves provide efficient water evacuation, improving wet handling by 10% and reducing braking distances by 16% compared with the previous model.
Efficiency and mileage have also been enhanced. With a rolling resistance rating of B–C and a new polymer compound, the S Fit 2 delivers a 15% increase in mileage over its predecessor, reducing overall tire costs. The optimized tread design also minimizes vibrations and noise, enhancing ride comfort.
The S Fit 2 has been designed for a wide range of vehicles, with low weight and high load capacity. Future Laufenn tires for plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles will feature an EV marking on the sidewall – a feature already included in the S Fit 2 – highlighting the brand’s strategic focus on electrified vehicles.
