Titan International has introduced its first steel-belted skid steer tire, the Carlstar-branded Ultra Guard Steel.
The line addresses a growing need in the marketplace for a high-performance, steel-belted option for tough environments such as construction sites and areas with high-puncture hazards.
“We listened to our customers and studied competitor offerings to engineer a tire that raises the bar for durability and rider comfort,” said Travis Little, general manager of Ag, construction and industrial products, Carlstar and Carlisle brands.
The Ultra Guard Steel has been designed for operators pushing the limits of their machines in high-intensity and demanding environments. Featuring a heavy-duty steel-belt, the tire has a 150% increase in puncture resistance compared to a traditional bias tire. Its larger lug design enhances load distribution by boosting overall endurance and a flexible sidewall aims to improve rideability through better shock absorption.
The tire has an increased tread-to-surface contact and deeper tread depth, which enables superior grip, traction and strength in tough conditions. It also has a built-in robust rim guard to provide added rim protection, preventing damage and reducing repair costs.
