Building on the original ScootSmart, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe has reinforced its presence in the scooter segment with the introduction of ScootSmart 2, an all-season tire developed to meet the evolving demands of modern scooter riders, aimed at those who rely on their scooters for daily mobility, from city commuting to longer urban journeys.
ScootSmart 2 reportedly delivers improved wet grip, braking and handling, while maintaining the durability and versatility of the original. Dunlop’s internal testing shows a 10% reduction in wet braking distance compared with the previous iteration of the tire.
Designed for riders who use their scooters all year round, the tire’s design draws on Dunlop’s sport touring expertise, combining sophisticated motorcycle tire technologies with a design tailored specifically for scooters.
The tire features a new high-silica compound to improve grip in a wide range of temperatures and road conditions, enhancing traction on wet and dry surfaces while maintaining strong mileage performance.
The front tire features a jagged center groove to break through surface water and shorten braking distances, while the orientation of the main grooves improves water dispersion at intermediate speeds. Secondary grooves and shoulder tread elements enhance grip when maneuvering on slippery surfaces.
At the rear, a continuous tread center supports wear resistance and traction on dry roads, and the groove layout is optimized to maintain grip in wet conditions. Together, these features contribute to consistent performance across the varied conditions faced by year-round scooter riders.

ScootSmart 2 has been developed with broad size coverage, supporting applications from lightweight city scooters to retro models and high-performance maxi scooters. The range will expand to 75 sizes, covering rim diameters from 10 to 16 inches and approximately 84% of the scooter market.

Dunlop ScootSmart 2 will be available across Europe in Q2 2026, with the full size range available from Q4 2026.
