Continental has launched two motorcycle tires — the TKC 802 and the ContiSportAttack 5 — designed for the adventure and supersport segments and both due to arrive early next year.
The 50:50 tire
The TKC 802 is the second-generation of the TKC 80 motorcycle tire – introduced four decades after the original – was developed from the ground up to meet the demands of modern adventure motorcycles, and delivers a balance of on- and off-road performance, Continental says.
The tire features a specifically designed tread design, with larger, rearranged blocks, additional contact edges, staggered outer blocks and optimized geometry to enhance grip on loose surfaces and provide effective self-cleaning, improving performance on mud, sand and gravel. With a larger contact patch, the tire delivers improved stability whether riding upright or leaned over.

The tread blocks on the front tire are steeply sloped downward in the direction of travel to improve grip when braking off-road, while the block design on the rear tire is designed in the opposite direction to provide optimum traction during acceleration.
The optimized carcass construction has been designed for a 50:50 ratio of on-road to off-road use and provides stability when fully loaded, at high speeds and on demanding off-road routes.
A new rubber compound provides improved grip across surfaces, enhanced wear resistance and Continental RainGrip technology for reliable performance in cold and wet conditions.
“Our new flexible rubber compound adapts perfectly to the micro-roughness of the asphalt, providing excellent grip. At the same time, we’ve worked intensively to resolve the conflict between on- and off-road performance in the best possible way,” said Raphael Michels, product manager for motorcycle tires at Continental.
“With the TKC 802, we’re setting new standards in terms of versatility, robustness, and off-road performance. The combination of innovative tread design, new rubber compound and optimized carcass offers adventure riders maximum safety, control and riding pleasure on a wide variety of terrains,” explained Christoph Ettenhuber, head of business field motorcycle tires at Continental.
The TKC 802 is due to arrive in spring 2026.
The supersport tire
The ContiSportAttack 5 is its latest generation of supersport tires. The range of applications is 80% road, 20% racetrack – without tire pressure adjustment or tire warmers. The tire will be available in five sizes for current supersport and naked motorcycle generations.
“The ContiSportAttack 5 represents years of intensive development work on a wide variety of roads and racetracks around the world. Our aspiration was to achieve improvements in all core characteristics without compromise,” explained Rafael Kascha, product developer of motorcycle tires at Continental.

The ContiSportAttack 5 offers improved grip through its updated BlackChili compound, designed to enhance road adherence and optimize wear patterns during track use.
Cornering performance is enhanced by a steel belt layout featuring MultiZoneBelt technology. Tighter belt windings at the center provide stability on straightaways, while wider windings at the shoulders increase contact area and confidence when leaning into turns. The transition between center and shoulder enables agile and responsive steering.
Steering precision is further refined through a redesigned carcass with targeted stiffness zones, while specially optimized tread areas promote faster warm-up tailored to different riding conditions. A TractionSkin surface enables consistent performance from the first ride, combining safety with immediate responsiveness.
“Our target group is performers – riders who are technically skilled and progressive during their ride. For them, it’s all about sport riding at the highest level – and that’s exactly what the ContiSportAttack 5 offers them”, said Ettenhuber.
“We’ve developed a tire that can handle both Sunday rides over mountain passes and racetrack training on closed courses – without compromising on performance,” said Kascha.
The ContiSportAttack 5 is due for release in Q1 2026.
