Radical Motorsport will introduce the latest Hankook Ventus R54 across its global racing network from January 2027, bringing competitors a lighter, higher-performing tire developed exclusively for Radical competition. It arrives as Radical prepares to mark its 30th anniversary in 2027.
Developed for the SR3 and SR10, the tire delivers gains in dry grip, degradation and performance throughout its life, as well as achieving a 4kg weight reduction per set. Engineered through an extensive development and track-testing program, the R54 replaces the outgoing Ventus C52 and is the latest product to come out of Radical’s technical partnership with Hankook.
According to the companies, an optimized compound and advanced casing construction have enabled those improvements without compromising the durability and consistency of the outgoing tire.
The R54 has been engineered around the characteristics of Radical race cars and the demands of competition worldwide, combining Radical’s engineering and racing expertise with Hankook’s experience in high-performance tire design, construction and compound technology.
James Scott, head of global technical support and aftersales at Radical Motorsport, said, “Engineered exclusively for Radical competition, the R54 represents a significant step forward, both in our partnership with Hankook and in our commitment to continually developing what we deliver to Radical racers globally. Designed around the specific demands of our cars and competition, it delivers gains in grip, consistency and degradation throughout the life of the tire, while retaining the durability our racers expect. We are proud to continue working alongside Hankook; its team’s expertise is world leading, and we look forward to building on that collaboration as we continue to develop.”
Byongmo Yoon, motorsports marketing manager at Hankook, commented, “It is significant for us to support Radical Motorsport with the new Ventus R54, using our dedicated tire technology to maximize the performance potential of its race cars. We look forward to seeing the technical expertise of both teams come together to deliver an even stronger driving experience on track.”
