With tire characteristics becoming increasingly specific, manufacturers are placing ever-higher demands on production equipment developers. To address these demands, Troester has unveiled the latest iteration of its CoEx (co-extrusion) line, the 4+2.

The new design features a range of CoEx heads for up to six compounds, offering manufacturers greater versatility in terms of extrusion requirements.

The quadruplex hammerhead design enables selective compound changes, as well as modular tooling. Furthermore, the opening width is tailormade to meet specific requirements. The CoEx head incorporates two dedicated extruders for specialized compound application – hence the designation CoEx 4+2.

The new head design suits a wide range of applications, including the production of ultra-high-performance tires.
