Hankook is to acquire independent tire wholesaler and retailer Reifen-Mueller based in Germany.

In addition to Reifen-Mueller’s sales distribution affiliate company, Reifen-Mueller KG, the acquisition will also include the retreading business Reifen-Mueller GmbH & Co. Runderneuerungswerk KG.

Both the current owners as well as the managers of Reifen-Mueller will continue as managers of the group.

Reifen-Mueller was founded in 1966 and has 44 service centers in Germany selling a wide range of tires, from passenger car and light truck to heavy truck and bus tire segments, as well as motorcycle and agricultural tires.

Hankook says that the strategic move will strengthen its distribution network across Germany, giving it better access to channels across Europe.
