Comerio Ercole celebrates 100 years in calendering industry

Machinery developer Comerio Ercole is celebrating its 100th anniversary in the calendering business. Founded in 1885, the company began in the textile field, and developed its first rubber processing machines in 1919. The first calender for textile cord rubberizing was commissioned by a major Italian tire manufacturer.

One hundred years later, Comerio Ercole celebrates this important milestone, with more than 1,000 installations over the world and 14 international patents.

To mark the anniversary, the company will launch a new four-roll calender, which will be installed in Germany at a top tire manufacturer’s facility. The Italian supplier has also published a book about calendering technology and Industry 4.0 process developments entitled, High precision rubber calendering technology.
