Toyota has selected Toyo Tire’s NanoEnergy rubber as original equipment for the new Prius, which went on sale in December 2015 in Japan. These tires will be fitted to the vehicle in Japan as well as in Europe, North America and other overseas markets where the new Prius is sold.

NanoEnergy is Toyo’s global fuel-efficient tire brand, which was developed using the company’s Nano Balance technology, a proprietary platform for designing rubber materials at the molecular-level. This original equipment tire is said to offer the high functionality and superior environmental performance demanded by the new Prius.
