Steelastic has released its Assurance Series of inspection systems. These are designed to identify and report defects in real-time during the production of radial belt, body ply, and cap strip materials to guarantee a defective product never makes it to the tire building process. The system will identify key defects such as splice imperfections, non-uniform edges, widths, gauges, and other major defects.

The Assurance Series uses the latest in 3D vision technology to achieve 100% product inspection and offers a fully automated method to guarantee quality control. Moreover, the system can be used with new or existing Steelastic belt, body ply and cap strip systems and can be easily adapted to operate with any make of machinery.

“The new Assurance series systems are key to the future of component prep to meet the demands of both tire and automotive OEM’s. This applies to all facets of our industry such PCR, TBR, OTR and motorcycle and can even be applied to non-tire applications,” said Zach Boaz, director of sales and marketing for Steelastic/RMS.

Steelastic will showcase the new vision inspection system on stand 2140 at the Tire Technology Expo 2015 in Cologne, Germany.
