Color Mark Inspection is the name of Datalogic’s latest development in machine vision technology and has made its debut at Tire Technology Expo 2015. This traceability and tracking solution, which is said to be suitable for use at any point in the production chain, identifies dots, letters, circles and other marks printed on the tire sidewall, in order to verify whether the required markings have been printed to the appropriate position and quality specifications. Data is captured from the top and bottom of tire transport conveyors.

Also new on Datalogic’s booth is the STS400 solution for tire sorting. This compact, pre-assembled and calibrated reading station is based on the MATRIX 410 image-based ID reader and is mounted on a self-contained structure. Datalogic claims it can be set up and installed for use within an hour and that its long reading range benefits tire sorting applications at any stage of the production process.

Tire Technology Expo is open until Thursday, February 12 in Hall 11.1 at Koeln Messe, Cologne, Germany. For more information go to www.tiretechnology-expo.com.
