Qingdao Sentury Tire’s new state-of-the-art Thailand factory, which began production in October 2015 and has an annual capacity of approximately 12 million semi-steel radial tires, was visited by Shandong, China, vice provincial governor Xia Geng. The new facility is equipped with cutting-edge equipment and is designed according to Industry 4.0, including a state-of-the-art material handling solution supplied by Cimcorp worth US$33.5m.

Shandong vice provincial governor Geng and a group of directors recently visited the facility on April 10 accompanied by former Thailand prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Sino-Thai Culture Association Pini promotional agent Xiao Wunan. Sentury chairman Qin Long and general manager Fan Quanjiang welcomed the visitors.

A tour of the factory included an extensive look around the workshops. All visitors reportedly spoke highly of the cutting-edge plant, and Geng said that Sentury should continue to focus on Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and build the Sentury Thailand factory as a model of China’s One, Belt One Road initiative.
