New report from Smithers Rapra focuses on carbon black market

A new report entitled The Future of Carbon Black to 2021 now available from Smithers Rapra, gives an extensive insight into the current state-of-play in the market.

Carbon black has historically seens a stable growth profile, from 2007-2015 the CAGR was 3.75%, growing from 9.8 million tonnes to 13.2 million tonnes. Demand is forecast to grow at a similar 3.74% CAGR over the next five years, driven by growth in the tire and automobile markets.

The report was prepared using a variety of primary and secondary research methods from multiple sources. The capacity information was developed from media sources, company reports and websites. The production and consumption figures were derived from sources such as the international Carbon Black Association Rubber Manufacturers Association amongst others including Smithers Rapra’s database. Trade statistics were derived from Eurostat, and governmental import/export agencies.
