Former head of Michelin passes away at age 88

François Michelin has passed away at the age of 88. Michelin dedicated his life to the company and headed it for 47 years, before he handed over the reins to his son Edouard.

Michelin tirelessly embodied the values of respect that are the foundation of the group’s identity and under his leadership, the company experienced unprecedented growth as he transformed it by giving it an international dimension.

Jean-Dominique Senard, CEO of the Michelin Group, said, “On behalf of the group’s employees, I would like to pay special tribute to this exceptional man who was universally respected for his values, his convictions, and his vision.”
