Yokohama Rubber has started delivering the Avid GT as the original equipment (OE) of the latest Nissan Leaf EV launched in the US in 2025. The mounting size is 215/55R18 95H.
The Avid GT was developed based on Yokohama Rubber’s BluEarth design and material technologies, with a focus on improving environmental performance in the North American market. The tire is designed to balance driving performance, safety, fuel efficiency and wear resistance, while also supporting reduced energy consumption for electric vehicles such as the Nissan Leaf. For the Leaf application, the Avid GT features an optimized tire profile and casing structure to improve steering stability and reduce weight, as well as a tread pitch arrangement refined using evolutionary calculation methods in Yokohama’s AI-based HAICoLab framework.
