Hankook has announced that it will supply the latest Porsche Macan EV with its Ventus S1 evo 3 ev ex works summer tire in size 235/55R20Y XL on the front axle and 285/45R20Y XL on the rear axle, with a ‘Neo’ marking on the sidewall. The tire has been designed for electric vehicles.
“Equipping the new, all-electric Porsche Macan – one of the highest-selling Porsche model series – with our premium tires is another milestone in our successful partnership with the sports car manufacturer,” said Jongho Park, president of Hankook Tire Europe. “Our technologies are ready for the requirements of the next generation of sporty electric vehicles.”
More range with optimized rolling resistance
The Ventus S1 evo 3 ev tread compound has been designed to transmit above-average drive torque, while increasing the range with optimized rolling resistance and high abrasion resistance. The tread pattern offers grip on wet and dry road surfaces with a wide and stable center tread block.
To provide acoustic comfort, the tread pattern has also been designed to minimize tire noise that might otherwise be perceived as intrusive inside an EV due to the absence of engine noise.
The tire features a robust carcass with high-performance fibers to support the 2.4-metric ton weight of the EV. Aramid hybrid cords minimize tread deformation at high speeds to enhance cornering and lane-change stability.
