Giti Tire has launched the GT Radial Maxmiler Pro2, which offers a 15% increase in rolling resistance performance and an 8% improvement in wet braking compared with the previous version of the tire.
The tire is available in 22 sizes with rims from 15-17in, section widths from 185-235 and series sizes from 55-75. The range covers 88.5% of the light truck market for electric and traditional-fuel vehicles.
In testing, the tire achieved a mix of A and B results for wet grip and B and C for rolling resistance coefficient. It is the brand’s latest dedicated light truck tire to feature the EV Ready logo, signifying that it is suitable for electric vehicles (EVs), while remaining a reference for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
There have also been changes in load and speed indices to meet the demanding requirements of the latest single- and dual-axle light trucks, with 215/70R15 109 S and 225/70R15 112 S specifically addressed for the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer. A reinforced design makes the tire suitable for heavy-load operations, with a stiff shoulder providing control and stability. Side-impact protection has been improved to shield against lateral curbside impacts.
According to Giti, an optimized tread pattern delivers safety on dry and wet roads, improved levels of grip and handling, consistent high mileage, superior comfort and low noise levels.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, deputy general manager for product planning PCR and LTR at Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), said, “The Maxmiler Pro name is one of our most established, recognized and successful GT Radial lines to date, so this new launch has to raise the bar significantly.
“The name is synonymous with mileage, toughness and robustness, so to maintain all those attributes while delivering a 15% increase in rolling resistance performance and an 8% improvement in wet braking really takes the tire to a whole new level, which of course encompasses sustainability. The Maxmiler Pro2 delivers dynamic performance on a par with premium manufacturers’ current patterns, but the price proposition is what will drive sales for our dealer partners.”
“With bigger rims, higher load index and faster speed index, we have a perfect match for the very latest offers in the van market, which also includes lighter operations like mobile home and shuttle vans, who appreciate the higher comfort and lower rolling resistance,” Pecci-Boriani concluded.
