LinkedIn +

Tire maker Bridgestone has developed ultra-low rolling resistance tires designed to complement the performance and character of BMW’s electric iX vehicle.

The custom-engineered Alenza tires feature Bridgestone’s proprietary and lightweight Enliten technology to reduce tire rolling resistance and weight by up to 20%. This is to help to keep the BMW iX’s overall weight to a minimum and deliver increased vehicle mileage as a result.

The BMW iX’s EV-marked Alenzas also feature a specially developed material compound and tread pattern. In doing this, the company intended to complement the BMW iX’s four-wheel drive transmission and eDrive Technology to deliver improved performance, range and acceleration.
