BluEarth-Van All Season RY61 launched by Yokohama

Yokohama has released the BluEarth-Van All Season RY61, a tire developed for the commercial van sector.

The Japan-based manufacturer’s latest all-season product benefits from large center tread blocks which ensure the tire has a bigger contact patch on the road for additional grip and also enhance tread rigidity to provide a higher level of performance in dry scenarios. Furthermore, 3D snow sipes create hundreds of biting edges on the tire’s tread surface to deliver traction in snow-covered conditions.

To extend the tread life of the BluEarth-Van All Season RY61, Yokohama has designed the tire with squared shoulder blocks and big center blocks to create a firm footprint which prevents uneven wear from occurring. Extra durability is also provided by additional protection from bead unsetting to prevent wear of the tire’s bead and carcass when used on high-load applications.

An anti-crack serration from the geometric cube design on the tire’s sidewall also helps to prevent the chances of cracks forming which would otherwise reduce the BluEarth-Van All Season RY61 service life.

A triple polymer compound which features a specific balance of polymers, silica and carbon works to reduce the tire’s rolling resistance to ensure commercial vans benefit from improved fuel efficiency.

“The BluEarth-Van All Season RY61 is perfect for smaller operators, as well as larger delivery fleets,” said Drew Dayton, senior product planning manager, consumer tires, Yokohama. “That’s because the RY61 offers an optimum balance of long tread wear, excellent durability and reliable performance all year long.”

The RY61 is currently available in three sizes to suit popular van fitments, with four additional sizes to be added to the range in the first few months of 2023.
