Two new Kordsa Global production facilities have been opened in Indonesia, for which investment totalled approximately US$100m. That includes an 18 kton tire cord fabric plant and a 14 kton third and forth generation polyester HMLS yarn plant. Over 200 experts will be employed across the two new facilities, which are located in Bogor-Citeureup, West Java.

Guler Sabanci, chairman of Sabanc? Holding, said at the inauguration, “The global economic state is continuously changing. Production intensity has shifted from west to east, and increasingly more Asian companies have entered the market so we have focused on differentiating ourselves from the new competition. Effective cost management and technology are two of the main principles of our strategy.

“Indonesia, with its vast natural resources, is more than a geographic base to grow in Asia. The young, entrepreneurial workforce available there is also a major driving force, and the pro-investment climate and improving infrastructure has made the region utmost attractive for investments.”
