Emerson unveils airflow sensor for use in tire manufacturing machines

LinkedIn +

Leakages in pneumatic systems cause expensive malfunctions, preventing tire manufacturers from optimizing the efficiency and sustainability of their machines. To that end, Emerson has developed the Aventics AF2 airflow sensor to continuously monitor the air consumption on pneumatic systems, sending a signal when pre-set levels are exceeded.

This functionality enables tire manufacturers to rapidly intervene in the event of a leakage. The IIoT-enabled AF2 is an intelligent device, designed to support the digital transformation of pneumatic systems by providing actionable insights into energy consumption. Interfaces for IO-Link and Ethernet are integrated, as are analog outputs. The AF2 can be simply installed on new machines and can also be easily retrofitted on existing equipment to provide instant insights into energy consumption.
