Nexen Tire has announced a strategic partnership with Mileage Tyres, an Irish tire distributor. This collaboration aims to expand Nexen’s presence and service network in the Irish market.

“We are delighted to partner with Mileage Tyres, whose expertise and market presence in Ireland perfectly complement our strategic ambitions in the region,” said Jeff Roh, vice president of European sales and marketing at Nexen Tire Europe. “This collaboration enables us to strengthen our distribution network and provide customers with an even higher level of service and product availability.”

Founded in 1981, Mileage Tyres is a family-operated company involved in tire distribution, offering products such as PCR, TBR, OTR, 4×4 and van tires.

Nexen Tire has launched the Roadian ATX in Australia.

Specifically engineered for both on- and off-road performance, the Roadian ATX is a high-inch tire for SUVs and pickup trucks, optimized for Australia’s diverse driving environments. The tire features a wide contact patch and an advanced rubber compound to maximize mileage and tread durability.

Key off-road technologies include a 3D kerf design for enhanced wet grip and Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification. Additional features, such as stone ejectors and side biters, help prevent gravel retention and improve traction on rocky surfaces.

The tire is currently supplied as original equipment (OE) for Jeep models, including the Wrangler and Gladiator.

Specialty chemical company Orion Engineered Carbons has commenced commercial sales from the first new reactor for carbon black production to be commissioned in the European Union in over 40 years.

Its new 25kt line at the facility in Ravenna, Italy, in the northern region of Emilia-Romagna, produces specialty and technical rubber carbon blacks, primarily for the European market.

“The new line offers customers seeking long-term solutions a unique strategic opportunity to align with a dependable plant that has been operating for more than 60 years in Europe,” said Orion CEO Corning Painter.

Additional investments at the plant include a new co-generation facility to convert waste heat into electricity, generating up to 120MWh of electricity per year.

Tire maker Falken has expanded into another large logistics warehouse in Neuhof, Germany.

The decision was made to become an anchor tenant of tire wholesaler Tyroo at the facility in the Fulda district of East Hesse to offer a higher level of service and to provide its customers with shorter lead times.

With the facility’s location in central Germany, Falken aims to develop its retail strategy, expand its car dealership customers and increase its presence in the German tire market.

“With this warehouse, we will be able to distribute our tires even more widely in the market and further increase the presence of the Falken brand,” explained Jürgen Koch, sales director, Germany replacement, Falken Tyre Europe.

Bridgestone has acquired German tire trade group REIFF Reifen und Autotechnik.

Under the Reiff, Netto and ABS brand names, REIFF runs a network of 42 retail stores in southern Germany and a tire retreading plant.

With over 500 employees, Bridgestone says the acquisition of REIFF fits well with its three-pillared strategy to lead mobility solutions by focusing on premium tires, trusted mobility solutions and customer-centric retail networks.

Finnish intralogistics manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic handling solutions Cimcorp has established an office in Madrid. The new subsidiary – Cimcorp Iberia – was formed in response to the growing interest in the company’s robotic automation solutions in Spain.

“Our decision to expand our presence into Spain is a logical step at this point and supports our growth strategy. We have a well-established customer base in Spain and our material handling systems are in high demand there,” said Tero Peltomäki (top), Cimcorp’s executive vice president, operations and technology.

The company has supplied automation solutions to Spanish supermarket chains Mercadona and Eroski in the past, in addition to several tire manufacturers’ facilities in Spain, including a Michelin site.

Apollo Tyres has opened its first office in Nepal, its first in the SAARC region outside of India. Nepal accounts for more than 35% of the company’s exports to SAARC countries.

Rajesh Dahiya, vice president, marketing, sales and service for India, SAARC and Oceania, inaugurated the new home in the Himalayan nation in the presence of distributors and dealers.

“Over the past few years we have been making steady inroads into the Nepalese market. Our product range fits well with the Nepalese consumer requirements and with the support of our key distribution and retail partners here, we have been able to penetrate most of the replacement tire market segments.

The first Apollo Truck Tyre Zone (ATTZ) has been opened in Malaysia. This one stop solution center will provide a range of services to commercial fleets in the region.

Commercial tire dealer and retreader BestDrive has opened new facilities in Houston, Los Angeles, and Little Rock. This includes the retailer’s first stores in California and Arkansas. Established in 2010, BestDrive now has 31 commercial tire centers across 17 US states.

“BestDrive is committed to serving fleets across the USA with new tires, retreads and tire monitoring technology,” said Sonny Simpson, managing director of BestDrive.

“We continue to add locations to support our goal of delivering the lowest overall driving cost to local and national fleet customers.”

The new VMI service center in Chon Buri Province, Thailand, has been officially opened by Riaan Diener, VP of VMI Global Services, and Aart van der Pol, regional manager for customer service Asia, in the presence of employees and invitees.

This is the company’s ninth service center worldwide. Its location was strategically chosen for logistical reasons as it will enable VMI to better serve its global customer base even quicker and more efficiently.

The engineers at the center, which is fully equipped with specialized tooling for servicing VMI mechanical drums, can provide support for customers in the region.
