<p>The recent winter trial subjected the company’s non-pneumatic mechanical wheel system to real-world operating conditions in Minnesota in December, with temperatures ranging from approximately -29°C to -40°C under full production loads and operational conditions. The testing focused on validating suspension performance, tread compounds, lubrication systems, and traction in extreme sub-zero mining conditions.</p>

As part of this collaboration, Goodyear has developed the Eagle Xplore, a bespoke concept tire with features focused around tire connectivity and design.</p>
<p>The tire features an orange sidewall pigment in line with the vehicle’s signature color and also integrates Goodyear SightLine, an advanced suite of tire intelligence technologies, fully connected to the car and accessible via the cockpit and ELO’s app. For the first time, SightLine displays real-time tire pressure directly on the vehicle’s rim through an LED sidebar.</p>
</p>
<p>The Eagle Xplore’s tread pattern draws from Goodyear’s iconic Wrangler line, while the LED sidebar shows real-time information on tire pressure and load – green indicates optimal pressure, red signals that adjustment is needed.</p>

The feat was achieved with Yangwang’s latest U9 Track Edition supercar on August 8, 2025.</p>
<p>The Yangwang U9 Track Edition is based on the e4 platform and DiSus-X core architecture.</p>
<p>The Track Edition’s e4 platform features a quad-motor system with 30,000rpm high-performance motors, each delivering 555kW of peak power. The combined output exceeds 3,000PS, enabling a power-to-weight ratio of 1,217PS per metric ton. The quad-motor independent torque-vectoring system continuously monitors road feedback, adjusting each wheel’s torque more than 100 times per second.</p>

Designed for fleets operating in regional markets, the RDR RD3 offers improved mileage and traction, and is 3PMSF certified.</p>
<p>The RDR RD3 features a robust, monodirectional tread design with asymmetric block angles that enhance grip and promote even wear. Its optimized profile aims to reduce stone retention, preserving the tire casing for future retreading cycles. Reinforced shoulder bridges provide lateral stability and prevent deformation under stress.</p>
<p>“With the RDR RD3, we’re bringing the next generation of performance and efficiency to the regional segment,” said Ronny Dietsch, sales and marketing director at Marangoni.</p>

<p>The tire maker has been developing soft, elastic lunar rover tires that can flexibly change shape in response to harsh surfaces, like those on the moon. These tires will be equipped on the lunar rover prototypes currently being developed by ispace.</p>
<p>Performance verification will be conducted on Earth ahead of use on the moon. Through these initiatives, both companies will assess the feasibility of the technologies and business opportunities on the lunar surface as they aim for the practical application of the tires as early as 2029.</p>

<p>Made for cross-country races, the tires have been designed for the toughest competitions but can also be used for a wide range of other cross-country applications, including light trail riding.</p>
<p><strong>Race compound</strong></p>
<p>The Scorpion XC RC and M tires use the latest RACE Compound, developed by Pirelli technicians in the Motorsport Compound division, and represent Pirelli&#8217;s &#8220;pinnacle of off-road performance in the XC discipline&#8221;, according to the tire maker.</p>

The Origami is a folding tire designed specifically for outer space exploration and settlement construction. Boasting an innovative structure inspired by the art of paper folding, the tire maximizes mobility efficiency in space environments.</p>
<p>The concepts were developed through Kumho’s Technology Outsourcing program, a collaborative research project intended to develop tires for future mobility.</p>

<p>WX7 is suitable for snow, ice, slush and wet conditions.</p>
<p>The center grooves are designed with serrated edges that trap the snow and provide an improved ‘snow-on-snow’ grip. A solid center rib aims to enhance handling and steering response on wet and icy roads.</p>
<p>Avon says that 3D micro-gauge siping technology provides improved braking performance across in wintry conditions.</p>

By the end of 2023, 80 sizes to suit 15-22in rim diameters will be available for application to pickup trucks, jeeps and SUVs.</p>
<p>Yokohama has designed the Geolandar X-AT with dynamic, large shoulder blocks that vary in length to provide a biting edge and promote mud and stone ejection. When these are combined with the tire’s angular center blocks, added durability and grip are provided. Furthermore, zig-zag grooves on the tread interrupt airflow to reduce the amount of pattern and road noise.</p>

<p>The industry-academia cooperation, described by Hankook as “the third phase of the Digital Future Innovation Research Center”, will prioritize research and development and the practical training of digital technology. The partnership will foster and support talent to ensure people are prepared for digital transformation by holding education programs on AI and machine learning (ML), with GSDS data science visitation programs held for executives and employees of Hankook.</p>
